Nature recently relaunched its neuroscience podcast under the new name: Neuropod with host Keri Smith. The show is supposed to come out once a month, and while there is some overlap in content with the main Nature Podcast, the focus on neuroscience allows them to expand the coverage of related topics.
I got an email from Keri Smith today that said there is a special episode available on the website that is devoted to coverage of the recent Society for Neuroscience meeting that was held in San Diego. I have enjoyed all the episodes so far and look forward to more.

Hi Ginger.
I have enjoyed your podcasts. Thanks for your efforts.
I am an outpatient neuroradiologist in Colorado beginning to enjoy the new benefits of having a 3.0 Tesla MRI. I have been re-energized by the amazing developments that are occuring in neuroscience and I have committed myself to bringing some of the recent advances neuroscience into the arena of outpatient imaging. I love all things Neurology and Neuroscience and your podcast is one of those things.
I’m willing to “subscribe” for a fee if you take credit cards. ……………Keep up the good work./// John
p.s.
I have listened to the Neuropod reviews of the Soc. of Neuroscience meeting and found them excellent.
John
Thanks so much for commenting about the Brain Science Podcast. It is very gratifying to know that my medical colleagues enjoy the show even though I am trying to target a more general audience.
With regards to the credit card issue, here is the situation: Right now you can pay via credit card, but you do need a PayPal account. For amounts under $3,000 they take 2.9% plus $0.30 (which means they take $.36 out of a $2 subscription).
If I want to accept direct credit card payments they will charge me similar rates plus $30 per month. That might not sound like much, but if means I would be losing money unless I had lots of direct credit card payments. Since it is so easy (and free) to set up a PayPal account, the numbers just don’t make sense for me right now. In fact, ideally I would like non-credit card PayPal donations since that’s the only time I get the whole amount, but I am not going to complain since I make numerous monthly donations with my credit cards.
I will certainly not be offended if you do not want to set up a PayPal account, but I have to say that I have found having one to very useful since there are quite a few small businesses that accept only PayPal probably for the same reasons that I have just described.
Anyway, thanks again for your support. If you have time please come and participate in the Discussion Forum at http://brainscienceforum.com.
We’ve added a link to your interview with Prof. C. Koch on our science education nonprofit’s website: (www.seresearch.org) – keep up the good work!
Thanks for the link. I recommend that my listeners go to your site for other links. I am going to post a link to your site on my Discussion Forum at http://brainscienceforum.com.
